Gothic Armour
A Gothic harness tended to be of lighter construction as it gained it's strength from flutes and folds in
the design, thus the plate could be made thinner but still as strong. However the more complicated design made it more expensive and
difficult to manufacture. An additional feature was that the “ridges” would catch the points on any thrusting or stabbing weapons
and direct the weapon away from the body thus helping to deflect the blow.
