A manuscript preserved in The British Library is dedicated to Lady Alice Branthwaite, Prioress
of Dartford in 1461 and 1479 entitled;
“the treetis that is kallid pickinge of love made bi a frere menour bonaventoure
that was cardinal of the court of Rome”
And on the fly leaf are the notes
“thys
boyk longeth to dame Alys branthwaite the worshipfull prioras of Dartford”
